Recording Configuration Troubleshooting Guide

Proxy Configuration Error

A Web Browser is launched, and displays a message stating that

The Analyzer™ module of the Web Performance Load Tester™ is now successfully recording your test case.

However, when attempting to connect to the desired site, an error message is displayed or nothing is displayed.

If the Web Browser appears to be displaying no information (and appears to be waiting), the site to be tested is using SSL and the proxy server between the recording workstation and the server uses NTLM authentication, then it is possible that this error may be the result of an unsupported configuration. Since NTLM authentication through a proxy server can introduce timing delays in test results due to overhead in the proxy server, it is advised that testing be conducted over a direct connection to the server, unless the same proxy server is anticipated for deployment. An attempt to record a testcase without using the proxy server may be made by opening the Proxy Settings preferences, and selecting the "No Proxy" option as the default proxy configuration.

In order to verify that Web Performance Load Tester™ has been appropriately configured for recording, please run the Recording Configuration Wizard. This may be accomplished by selecting the Record->Recording Configuration wizard... menu item, and then entering the information as prompted by the wizard.
