Recording Configuration Troubleshooting Guide

Recording Configuration Wizard fails

The Recording Configuration Wizard appears. After entering in the URL of the site to be recorded, the wizard indicates that it was unsuccessful connecting to the site and requires a manual configuration.

In order to verify connectivity to the application server, the first step is to ensure that your Web Browser can still connect to the server normally, outside of Web Performance Load Tester. This ensures that the server has not been temporarily taken down for maintenance, or is experiencing some form of difficulty.

  1. Exit Analyzer™ and close all open browser windows.
  2. Open a new browser window and try accessing the website again.
  3. If the site cannot be accessed try restarting and exiting Analyzer™ to restore the browser configuration.
  4. If the site still cannot be reached, contact your network administrator.

Next refresh Web Performance Load Tester's proxy configuration with the same information used by your Web Browser:

  1. Start Analyzer™ and select the Window->Preferences->Web Performance->Proxies menu item.
  2. Press the Auto Detect button to reload proxy settings from the installed web browsers.
  3. Select the default browser In the list.  This browser should start with "Default", e.g. "Default (Internet Explorer)".
  4. Highlight this entry, then press the Make Default button
  5. Press the OK button

Once the proxy settings have been refreshed, another attempt should be made to run the Recording configuration wizard:

  1. Selecting the Record->Recording Configuration Wizard... menu item
